MFCP Is Your Partner for Alternative Fuel and Energy

Written by Tami Matthews | Fri, Oct 02, 2026 @ 02:00 PM

As organizations seek energy security, lower emissions, and sustainable operations, alternative fuels and renewable energy sources continue to gain momentum. Companies operating in this rapidly evolving industry need a knowledgeable partner that can help them navigate changing technologies, regulations, and infrastructure requirements. That's where Motion & Flow Control Products (MFCP) comes in.

We’re on the forefront of sustainability and energy options. MFCP has stores and consultants helping energy companies nationwide.

Sectors and solutions

Although we have products for every portion of the energy sector, we do have specialties where we have deep expertise: natural gas, hydrogen, and wind.

Natural gas

According to the U.S. Department of Energy Information Administration, “Natural gas contains many different compounds. The largest component of natural gas is methane, a compound with one carbon atom and four hydrogen atoms (CH4). Natural gas also contains smaller amounts of natural gas liquids (NGLs, which are also hydrocarbon gas liquids) and nonhydrocarbon gases, such as carbon dioxide and water vapor.”

Within this energy space, there are two main forms of natural gas where we are exceptionally knowledgeable: CNG and RNG.

Compressed natural gas

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is natural gas that has been compressed to reduce its volume for transportation and storage. CNG offers lower emissions than many conventional fuels and is widely used in transportation and fleet applications.

As a CSA-certified Parker CNG distributor since 2016, MFCP provides specialized products and expertise to support compressed natural gas fueling infrastructure and transportation applications. We are also an authorized CNG hose assembler.

Renewable natural gas

An exciting, versatile energy source has a promising future is renewable natural gas (RNG). Renewable natural gas, biogas, or biomethane comes from three major sources which are 100% domestic:

  • Landfills and sludge
  • Yard, food, and agriculture scraps and waste
  • Manure and waste or gray water

According to the American Biogas Council, “The U.S. has 2,600 sites producing biogas in all 50 states. There are 631 farms with biogas capture systems, over 1,240 water resource recovery facilities using an anaerobic digester, 121 stand-alone systems that digest food waste, and 598 landfill gas projects, representing an estimated $39.8 billion of capital investment. For comparison, Germany has nearly 10,000 operating digesters and some communities are essentially fossil fuel free because of them.”

The American Biogas Council also believes it’s an expanding industry, with more the potential for an additional 17,000 sites.

Products

We have a few favorite products to spotlight. Here are some of the products that are especially helpful for energy companies.

  • Virtual pipeline couplers
  • Clean energy sheet
  • CNG fill nozzle
  • Instrumentation
  • Seals

See featured products.

Hydrogen

Hydrogen gas (or H2) is a clean fuel; the biproduct is water when consumed in a fuel cell vehicle. Hydrogen comes from natural gas, nuclear power, biomass, wind, and solar. It can be used in cars, houses, and in portable power options.

Some of the products we specialize in include:

  • H2 hose
  • H2 regulator

Wind power

In 2025, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) indicated that 41 states have utility-scale wind plants. It’s the U.S.’ number one renewable energy and it’s a growing segment, increasing capacity 30% year over year. It’s a natural resource with boundless potential, especially in windy areas such as the West.

A few products MFCP carries include:

  • Wind turbine control systems
  • Blade pitch control valve
  • DC valves, including D1FC and D3FC

  • Hannay Reels

Through our strategic partnerships, we ensure supply chain resilience to keep your energy flowing.

Industry leadership and advocacy

MFCP actively supports the growth of alternative fuel and renewable energy industries through leadership and advocacy efforts.

In 2026, we joined The Transport Project, the North American organization dedicated to the ongoing development of a growing, profitable, and sustainable marketplace for gaseous fuels and fleets. Jamie McCracken, MFCP Alternative Fuel Market Manager, is on the board.

In September of 2026, we joined industry leaders and citizens to speak with the U.S. government, both the House and Senate offices, urging sustainable energy adoptions and incentives. Members were presented with and asked for support on H.R. the new S.1252/H.R. 2596 Renewable Natural Gas Incentive Act. The Act provides an incentive for people using RNG-sourced fuels in their vehicles with a $1.00 tax credit for every gallon of RNG pumped. Learn more about our representation on Capitol Hill.
