Are you using Parker Global Connect (GC) push-to-connect fittings? Read on.

In September we wrote a blog about changes to Parker’s Push-To-Connect fittings line (Changes to Parker Push-to-Connect Fittings Line). Little did we know that more changes were in the works.

The Parker Fluid System Connectors Division announced last week that it is in the process of phasing out the Global Connect “GC” product line. Parker recommends replacing GC parts with PLP pneumatic fittings. With the acquisition of Legris, and the launch of the new Composite PLP product line, Parker now has a pneumatic fitting line with improved performance, expanded breadth of product, and a competitive price level.

Global Connect Product Phase-Out Schedule

  • Phase 1:  GC parts with zero usage are no longer sold (as of November, 2012)
  • Phase 2:  GC parts with low usage will be phased out by the end of February, 2013
  • Phase 3:  All GC fittings will be phased out effective June, 2013

The Prestolok PLP Composite line is the suggested replacement for the GC line of fittings.

The Prestolok PLP Composite Pneumatic Fittings:

  • Higher pressure rating
  • Slightly greater operating temperature range
  • Easier tube insertion and removal
  • Expanded range of configurations
  • Complementary line of flow controls and function valves
  • Much more compact design
