Hose Product Simplification - GlobalCore Replaces Legacy Hydraulic Hose Series

Four years ago, Parker introduced the GlobalCore line of hose products – this globally available line has enabled large users of hydraulic hoses to greatly reduce their inventories and simplify product selection. GlobalCore family of hoses set a new industry benchmark for high performance hydraulic hoses suitable for most common hydraulic applications. GlobalCore consists of six series of hose that cover the most common working applications encountered in today's hydraulic systems:

• 187 – 1,000 psi constant working pressure; 1-braid steel wire construction
• 387 – 3,000 psi constant working pressure; 2-braid steel wire construction
• 487 – 4,000 psi constant working pressure; 2-braid steel wire construction
• 722 – 4,000 psi constant working pressure; 4-spiral construction
• 787 – 5,000 psi constant working pressure; 4- or 6- spiral construction
• 797 – 6,000 psi constant working pressure; 4- or 6- spiral construction

As of today, all the legacy hoses that GlobalCore hoses can (and should) replace remain in production. As a result, Parker offers number of hose series that perform similarly, work in the same applications and serve the same markets. This creates confusion for anyone trying to specify a hose, since in many cases there is no clear reason for using one hose versus another. To remedy the duplication in its product line, Parker will discontinue manufacturing several hose series that will be replaced with GlobalCore hose.

The first phase of obsolescence occurs on December 31, 2018 – after this date, Parker will no longer fulfill orders containing the discontinued hose series. The second phase occurs on June 28, 2019. See below for a list of the affected hoses:
