Parker Air Cylinder Mounting Information
The mounting style of a cylinder directly affects the maximum pressure at which the cylinder can be operated. Consult the information below to select the proper mounting style combination for your application. Stroke length, piston rod connection to load, and extra piston rod length over standard should be considered for thrust loads. Alloy steel mounting bolts are recommended for all mounting styles, and thrust keys are recommended for Group 3 mounting styles.
Parker air cylinder standard mounting styles fall into one of three basic groups:
Group 1 - Straight line force transfer with fixed mounts that absorb force on the cylinder centerline.
Heavy-Duty Service
- Thrust Loads: Mounting Style TC
- Tension Loads: Mounting Style TB
Medium-Duty Service
- Thrust Loads: Mounting Styles H & HB
- Tension Loads: Mounting Styles J & JB
Light-Duty Service
- Thrust Loads: Mounting Styles J & JB
- Tension Loads: Mounting Styles H & HB
Group 2 - Pivot force transfer with pivot mounts that absorb force on cylinder centerline and permit cylinder to change alignment in one plane.
Heavy-Duty Service
- Thrust Loads: Mounting Styles D & DD
- Tension Loads: Mounting Styles BB, BC, D, DB, & DD
Medium-Duty Service
- Thrust Loads: Mounting Styles BB, BC & BE
- Tension Loads: Mounting Styles BB, BC & BE
Group 3 - Straight line force transfer with fixed mounts that do not absorb force on the cylinder centerline.
Heavy-Duty Service
- Thrust Loads: Mounting Style C
- Tension Loads: Mounting Style C
Medium-Duty Service
- Thrust Loads: Mounting Style F
- Tension Loads: Mounting Style F
Light-Duty Service
- Thrust Loads: Mounting Style CB*
- Tension Loads: Mounting Style CB*
*Mounting style CB recommended for maximum pressure of 150 psi.
