Tube Nuts for Automotive Brake & Clutch Applications | BrakeQuip
Most BrakeQuip tube nuts have two distinct features for easier installation & dismantling:1. A small step on the end of the thread allows for easier installation, because the step acts as a guide. It also makes it easier to start the thread, and gives the thread clearance at the end. Thread clearance is important in a nut, because it eliminates the problem of flaring out when over tightened. If this happens, the nut can be very hard to remove and can destroy the thread when removed.
2. A thread relief under the hex allows the nut to be screwed down right up to the hex if necessary.
