Parker Hose Whip Restraint System

Use this guide to select the right parts of the Hose Whip Restraint System for your Parker hose assembly. If you are not using Parker hose assemblies, you can still use the Parker Hose Whip Restraint System. Just measure your hose O.D. and adapter, or flange bolt, to find the correct collar and cable assembly. Please refer to the Hose Whip Restraint product page for more details on use of the Hose Whip Restraint System.

The Hose Whip Restraint System consists of two parts – a hose collar and a cable assembly. The hose collar (part number WRCxxxx) is selected based on the outside diameter of the hose, and the cable assembly is selected based on the type of hose connection. Two types of cable assemblies are available – one for flange-type connections (part numbers WRFxxx), and the other for port adapters (part number WRAxxx). 

Selection of the correct Hose Whip Restraint System is a two step process:

STEP 1 | Select a collar for your Parker hose:

The collar attaches to the hose part of the assembly and provides means of attaching one end of the cable assembly.

For Parker hoses listed in the table below:

  1. Find your hose series in the table below.
  2. Scan the column until you find your hose dash size.
  3. Follow the row to the right and find the part number for your collar in the last column.

For any hose not listed:

  1. Measure the outside diameter of your hose.
  2. Locate a row where HOSE O.D. MIN is less than or equal to your measurement and HOSE O.D. MAX is larger than or equal to your measurement.
  3. Follow the row to the right and find the part number for your collar in the last column.

STEP 2 | Select a cable assembly for your adapter:

The second step is to select the cable assembly. One end of the cable assembly attaches to the collar and the other slips over the adapter or a flange bolt.

For Parker connectors listed in the table below:

  1. Find your adapter part number in the table below.
  2. Scan the column until you find your adapter dash size.
  3. Follow the row to the right and find the part number for you cable assembly in the last column.

For any connection not listed:

  1. Measure the outside diameter of your port end (thread).
  2. Locate the SMALLEST value under Port End Size (Dim. “A”) that is bigger than your measurement. Do not select a size that fits too loose, the loop of the cable assembly could slip off the fitting in the event of failure and the failed hose could still whip around and cause damage and/or injury.
  3.  Scan to the right column to see your collar part number.

Selecting a cable assembly when using flanges

(Selecting a cable assembly when using adapters is described above)

For Parker connectors listed in the table below:

  1. Find your flange part number in the table below.
  2. Scan the column until you find your flange dash size.
  3. Follow the row to the right and find the part number for you cable assembly in the last column.

For any connection not listed:

  1. Measure the outside diameter of your port end (thread).
  2. Locate the FIRST value under Dimension “A” that is bigger than your measurement. Do not select a size that fits too loose, the loop of the cable assembly could slip off the fitting in the event of failure and the failed hose could still whip around.
  3.  Scan to the right column to see your collar part number.
