New crimp specs for Parker HY series fittings, sizes 3/8” and 1/2”
Parker has announced a running change to the crimp diameter and crimp length of HY series fittings. The change will be cosmetic for Parker’s rubber hoses produced by Parker Hose Product Division. There will, however, be some dimensional changes for the following thermoplastic hoses produced by Parker Parflex division: HFS2, HFS, D6, H6, R6, 563 and 53DM hoses in sizes 3/8” and 1/2”.
The target launch for the new HY series fittings is February 1st, 2012. Parker indicated in the memo to its distributors that all HY fittings' configurations will be converted to the new specs by the end of March.
The new HY series fittings will be shipped in a box marked with a bright yellow label with the following message:
If you are purchasing Parker HY series fittings in bulk, please be advised that you will begin to receive the new style fittings in February 2012.
The following only applies to Parker Parflex hoses HFS2, HFS, D6, H6, R6, 563 and 53DM:
Parker’s test results indicate that all 1/2” hoses perform satisfactorily with currently approved Parkrimp dies, so NO new dies are required for 1/2” hoses.
The 3/8” hoses DO require new crimp dies, because adjusted crimp length and diameter are specified. Please see the chart below for dies and crimp diameter specs for 3/8” Parflex hoses using Parkrimp system.

For fabricators using adjustable crimpers, all crimp specs will be updated on Parker’s Crimpsource website before February 1st, 2012 target launch date.
New Parker dies for 3/8” size Parflex hoses will be in Parker’s stock by the end of January 2012.
