Customer Spotlights for the Alternative Fuel and Energy Sector
Motion & Flow Control Products (MFCP) partners with our customers, providing quick communication, quality products, and expansive services to help them achieve success. For one company, speed was important. For WM, MFCP helped them to innovate and continue to be North America’s leading provider of comprehensive environmental solutions.
Below, read about two real-life customers that partnered with MFCP.
Moving to MFCP from a supplier who couldn’t keep up
An anonymous customer was desperate for a partner that understood their business, could meet quick deadlines, and could grow alongside them. When they weren’t getting that partnership, they contacted Motion & Flow Control Products (MFCP) based on a referral. Due to vendor agreements, our company wasn’t permitted to assist this customer, as it wasn’t our territory.
That’s when company employees, like the sales and service director, took matters into his own hands. He contacted Parker Hannafin, requesting the company allow MFCP to be the customer’s preferred vendor.
“[We] have had a great experience in dealing with [MFCP] from the Salt Lake City branch. These individuals have consistently provided prompt communication and go out of their way for the greater good of our customers. Since we started reaching out to them, we have formed a wonderful working relationship. Our team views MFCP as a strong source to keep up with our growing demand.
"Our team received a referral to MFCP in SLC from another company that had good experiences with parts availability and pricing. We have received shorter turnaround time, lower pricing, quicker communication responses, better shipping incentives and overall improved customer service from MFCP. For these reasons we would like to move our primary buying of Parker products to MFCP. “
Part of the company's structure of keeping trucks on the road- MFCP would need to build and ship CNG hoses sometimes same day which greatly helped the company keep their customers running.
Supporting WM’s sustainability goals
MFCP's work recently made headlines in Denver and earned praise from Colorado Governor, Jared Polis.
WM’s press release indicates that Waste Management (WM) has opened a $110 million recycling facility and hauling site. At the site are 104 compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations to support WM’s growing fleet of lower-emission CNG collection trucks. A team of about 100 managers, drivers and technicians work out of this hauling site – which is the third WM hauling site servicing communities and businesses in the Denver metro area.
According to WM, the company has also broken ground on a co-located facility for the At Your Door Special Collections® program, which collects difficult, sometimes hazardous and hard to recycle materials. Later this year, WM expects to begin the estimated $67 million construction of Colorado’s first large-scale renewable natural gas (RNG) facility at the Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site (DADS), which is located adjacent to WM’s Denver East campus. In addition, WM has invested a total of approximately $8.2 million in the Organics Recycling Facility at DADS, which includes 2026 site improvements and equipment.
In Colorado, where MFCP has its headquarters, this move is heralded as a major step toward sustainability. Colorado Governor Jared Polis said, “As Colorado continues to transition to EPR for packaging and paper products, expand recycling to all residents and work to reduce both waste and greenhouse gas emissions, investments in sustainability infrastructure like WM is making here in Denver, are crucial to supporting the state’s aggressive goals for environmental, economic and public health.”
The Denver East Recycling Facility is part of WM’s enterprise-wide plans to invest more than $1.4 billion in 39 new and upgraded recycling facilities across North America from 2022 to 2027, which is expected to add approximately 2.8 million tons of incremental annual processing capacity by the end of 2027. These planned investments seek to increase WM’s ability to manage more recycled materials and potentially enhance access to recycling for its customers.
MFCP has come along side to support WM and its Contractors with their RNG programs. MFCP touches the full spectrum of the CNG/RNG process from supporting the OEM of the compressor manufacturer to the components on the vehicle running on the fuel. MFCP is truly an end-to-end solution for the Natural Gas Fueling Vertical.
