The maritime or marine sector is vast, with many distinct types of companies that need solutions: yachts, ferries and cruise ships, large commercial fishing boats, cargo ships and military vessels. Our solutions also include the areas where vessels are parked, such as terminals and docks.

At Motion & Flow Control Products (MFCP), we provide maritime engineering solutions, advanced vessel technology, and sustainable practices to enhance efficiency, safety, and environmental responsibility. With locations along the west coast, from San Diego to Alaska, we serve all marine-based crafts. Because of the nature of the marine industry, we’re not limited to only U.S.-based organizations; we also help international companies. For example, our Chula Vista office supports a commercial tuna fishing operation in Mexico.

Marine challenges

There are many challenges impacting maritime companies: Internet of Things (IoT), scheduling and supply chain management, workforce development, environmental compliance, and geopolitical issues. Although we can’t assist you with some topics, such as geopolitical issues, MFCP can help with everything below.

Supply resiliance and service from convenient locations

Although you can work with any MFCP location, most of the major maritime resources, including parts and labor, come from our sites along the West Coast. Our locations coincide with where marine vessels and terminals need solutions, including parts and repairs.

  • Chula Vista near San Diego, CA
  • Long Beach, CA
  • Fremont near San Francisco, CA
  • Portland, OR
  • Kent and Ferndale in the Puget Sound near Seattle, WA
  • Anchorage, Alaska

Of course, you don't need to know which of our locations specialize in which services and products. Our account managers work with you across locations to help with whatever you need when you need it.

Brands that help us deliver solutions

Of course, we offer Parker, including Village Marine. We also carry other key brands that help ships improve reliability, increase safety, and boost efficiency.

  • Brand
  • Adapt-All
  • Super-Lok
  • Dixon

Products that solve major challenges

We work with top brands across the spectrum, solving issues for everything from seafood processing to fueling your vessel to terminal assistance.

Here are a few of our favorites:

  • Village Marine covers a wide variety, especially water filtration
  • Racor provides fuel filtration
  • Hydraulic filtration for larger commercial vessels
  • Custom fuel hose assemblies for dock usage or larger diameter hoses for large vessels from ¾” to 8” diameter
  • Hydraulic valves
  • Parker hose & fittings, stainless steel tube fittings

Services to keep your operations moving

MFCP provides a range of services to keep your operations running safely and efficiently. We support preventive maintenance programs through the inspection, testing, and certification of hoses, tubing, and hydraulic systems. In addition, we train maritime companies, sharing tips, industry best practices, and troubleshooting techniques. If you need products right away, the easiest way to ensure it is MFCP’s vendor-managed inventory. This service helps prevent stockouts of critical supplies while supporting forecasting, planning, replenishment, and inventory optimization activities.

The result is increased vessel uptime, improved safety, and a more knowledgeable workforce prepared to respond to challenges both at the dock and at sea.

Site visits: ship and terminal walks

MFCP always offers walkthroughs to audit your processes and understand your goals. We provide clear next steps, enabling you to resolve issues and meet your goals. Because we offer a variety of products, we can provide pros and cons on why we use one versus another. Are you interested in saving money? We have cost-effective options. Want reliability more? We can provide that as well.

Leadership and advocacy

Like many of you, the MFCP team will be at the Pacific Marine Expo from November 19 -21. There, our team can talk with you about the solutions we provide to water-based companies like yours.

In addition, we have team members attending Alaska’s Resource Development Council. This council is a nonprofit organization focused on growing Alaska’s economy through responsible resource development practices, addressing sustainable practices in fishing, oil and gas, and logging.
